In the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft, he was selected by the Washington Nationals in the first round.

On June 11, 2016, Kieboom announced his signing with the Nationals and his arrival. He batted.244 with four home runs and 25 RBIs in his first pro season with the Gulf Coast League Nationals.

He hit.333 with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 2017 with the Class-A Hagerstown Suns before being placed on the disabled list on May 12 due to a hamstring issue.

Along with many Suns teammates, Kieboom was chosen to the Southern Atlantic League’s Northern Division All-Star team.

Kieboom was the Nationals’ fourth-best prospect as of the 2017 season, according to Baseball America and MLB Pipeline.

Kieboom played in six games with the GCL Nationals and seven games with the Auburn Doubledays after returning to Hagerstown late in the season.

He batted .297 with nine home runs in 61 games across all three divisions in 2017.
