For the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons, Casey Hayward Jr. is a cornerback who plays American football. His height is 1.80 m and 87 kilograms is his weight. He was a football, basketball, and track star as a student at Perry High School. Following graduation from high school, he attended Vanderbilt University, where from 2008 to 2011 he played college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
He switched to cornerback permanently after participating during his first year. He equaled the career record most interceptions in his final year as a Vanderbilt Commodore (15). The third-highest total by a Vanderbilt player in a single season, he also made 62 tackles and had seven interceptions. Sports Illustrated recognized him as a mid-season All-American.
He was the first Vanderbilt All-American in four years when, at the conclusion of the season, the Walter Camp Foundation named him to the second team. Hayward was chosen by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. In the Green Bay Packers’ season opener vs the San Francisco 49ers, he played in his first regular-season game as a professional.
He signed a three-year deal with the San Diego Chargers in March 2016. In Week 1 of 2020, he was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his play. He was released by the Chargers in March 2021. On May 4, 2021, he signed a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. He agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons in March 2022.
