Casey Lee Lawrence, better known as “Twig,” was born on October 28, 1987, and currently pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) (MLB).

The Blue Jays and Mariners, as well as the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball League, formerly employed him as a player (NPB).

Lawrence was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. In lieu of a signing bonus, Lawrence was given a plane ticket to Dunedin, Florida.

Upon completion of his first season, he was promoted to Class-A Lansing Lugnuts, where he played for the Short Season A Auburn Double Days. A 2.33 ERA and 61 Ks in 7713 innings earned Lawrence a 7–2 record last year.

The Seattle Mariners claimed Lawrence off waivers on May 11th, 2017. He struck out nine Rockies in five innings on June 1 to set a Mariners team record for most strikeouts in a relief appearance.

With York Revolution of Atlantic League Professional Baseball, Lawrence signed on March 30th, 2020. Lawrence’s contract was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays on May 19, before the start of the Atlantic League season, and he was sent to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons

. Lawrence signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on November 29 and was invited to spring training that same month.
