Cavan Biggio Parents: Meet Craig Biggio and Patty Biggio

Cavan Thomas Biggio plays baseball professionally for the Toronto Blue Jays. He rotates between second base, third base, and outfield with the Blue Jays. He weighs 91 kilograms and is 1.83 meters tall.

He was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB Draft. Upon joining them, he received a $300,000 signing bonus. He was named an All-Star for Vancouver that year and made his professional debut with the Vancouver Canadians of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League.

Later, he was assigned to the Lansing Lugnuts of the Class A Midwest League to play for the balance of the 2016 season. The Blue Jays promoted him to the major leagues in 2019, and on May 24, 2019, he played for the Jays in his debut MLB game against the San Diego Padres.

The Blue Jays and Cavan agreed to an agreement on a $2.123 million contract to avoid salary arbitration in March 2022.

His father, Craig was a former second baseman, outfielder, and catcher who spent his whole career with the Houston Astros from 1988 to 2007. He was born in Smithtown, New York on December 14, 1965.

He won the 2007 Roberto Clemente Award for sportsmanship and volunteerism, as well as the 2005 Hutch Award for overcoming adversity.
