Major League Baseball pitcher Rodney Chad Smith from the United States competes for the Colorado Rockies. Smith, who is currently 27 years old, debuted in the big league in 2022. He was born on June 8, 1995, in McCalla, Alabama in the United States.
Smith gained his high school education at McAdory High School in McCalla, Alabama. He enrolled at the Wallace State Community College, where he played baseball for two years.
In the 23rd round of the 2015 MLB Draft, the Cleveland Indians selected him. After choosing not to sign with Cleveland, he transferred to the University of Mississippi, where he played college baseball for the Ole Miss Rebels.
In the eleventh round of the 2016 MLB Draft, the Miami Marlins picked Smith, and Smith eventually signed with the Marlins. Smith was exchanged by the Marlins for Jess Tinoco by the Rockies on August 13, 2020.
