Catcher Chad Wallach, who is the son of former Major League Baseball player Tim Wallach, was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 43rd round of the amateur draft in 2010.

He decided against signing and will be attending Cal State Fullerton as a result. After that, in the fifth round of the 2013 amateur draft, the Miami Marlins selected him to join their team.

On June 21st, he played his first game in the professional league for the Batavia Muckdogs against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

He played in 43 games and had a batting average of .226 with 0 home runs and 13 RBIs.

However, he had a much more successful year in 2014, hitting .321 with the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the South Atlantic League over the course of 78 games.

He then went on to have an even more successful season with the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Florida State League, hitting .322 over the course of 19 games.

His combined batting line in the 97 games he played for both teams was.322/.431/.457, and he had 7 home runs and 57 RBIs.

Along with pitcher Anthony DeSclafani, he was one of the players sent to the Cincinnati Reds on December 11, 2014, in exchange for pitcher Mat Latos.

On August 27, 2017, he made his debut with the Reds. In his first at-bat, he went 0 for 4 and struck out.

Between the years 2018 and 2020, he participated in every major league season, however he never played in more than 23 games in a single season.
