He was picked in the fifth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft by the Marlins, and he debuted in the big leagues in 2017. He has played for the Cincinnati Reds and the Miami Marlins in the Major League Baseball (MLB).

Wallach attended Calvary Chapel High School in Santa Ana, California, and grew up in Orange, California.

He began the 2014 season with the Class A Greensboro Grasshoppers (for whom he was a mid-season South Atlantic League All-Star) before being promoted to the Class A-Advanced Jupiter Hammerheads, where he batted .322/.431/.457 between the two teams.
