Charles Leno Jr., an offensive tackle for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League, was born on October 9, 1991.
In the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected him out of Boise State, where he played college football. Before being released in 2021 and signed with Washington, Leno was a seven-year starter for the Bears, making the 2019 Pro Bowl while playing with them.
At San Leandro High School in San Leandro, California, Leno participated in basketball and football while a student, winning three varsity letters in each sport.
He was named to the first team of the conference as an offensive lineman and the second team as a defensive end as a senior. He was given a three-star prospect rating by Rivals.com.
Leno attended Boise State University, where from 2009 to 2013 he played football for the Boise State Broncos. Throughout his career, he started 39 straight games at offensive tackle for the Broncos, starting the final 26 at left tackle.
In his career, he was chosen for the first team of the Mountain West Conference as a senior and the second team as a junior.
On May 15, 2021, Leno agreed to a one-year contract with the Washington Football Team. He made all 17 of his starts for the 2021 campaign, and on January 5, 2022, he agreed to a three-year, $37.5 million contract extension.
