He attended Fresno State University, where from 2012 to 2015 he competed in collegiate football for the Fresno State Bulldogs. His true freshman year of 2011 was spent as a redshirt. At Fresno State, he majored in criminology and prisons. Washington signed with the Detroit Lions in May 2016 as an undrafted free agent after being undrafted. He was released by the Lions in August of this year.

He had a hamstring injury on September 29, 2021, and was put on injured reserve until being activated on December 18. He renewed his contract with the Cardinals on May 2, 2022.
