Charlie Blackmon Parents: Meet Myron Blackmon and Ellen Blackmon

Charles Cobb Blackmon, professionally called Charlie Blackmon and nicknamed “Chuck Nazty”, is known to be an American professional baseball player who plays as an outfielder for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. He stands at 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 221 pounds.

Charlie attended North Gwinnett High School where he played baseball as a left-handed pitcher and outfielder for the school’s baseball team. After high school, he enrolled at Young Harris College where he played college baseball for two years before transferring to Georgia Tech through scholarship.

Charlie played collegiate summer baseball whiles in college with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. During the 2008 MLB draft, he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the second round of the draft. He made his professional debut that year playing for the Tri-City Dust Devils. In 2009, the Rockies promoted him to the Modesto Nuts.

He was assigned to spend the 2010 minor league season playing for the Tulsa Drillers. He played for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in 2011. The Rockies promoted him to the major leagues for the first time on June 6, 201,1 and he made his MLB debut the following day for the team. In May 2017, Charlie won his first NL Player of the Month Award and in April 2018, the Rockies and Charlie agreed on a six-year contract extension worth $108 million.
