Charlie began his professional career with the San Francisco Giants in the year 2007. He was drafted by the Francisco Giants in the first round of the Supplemental draft’s 51st overall from Calhoun High School in Calhoun. He was protected from the Rule 5 draft when he was added to the 40-man roster. He is now with the Texas Rangers who signed him to the minor leagues before joining the major leagues. He joined them on December 28, 2020.

Charlie Culberson is the son of Charles and Kim Culberson, who raised him in Rome, Georgia. Culberson was a lifelong Braves supporter. Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Georgia was his alma mater. In 2005, Culberson’s high school baseball team won the state championship. He was inducted into the Calhoun-Gordon County Sports Hall of Fame.
