Chas McCormick plays outfield for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball as a professional baseball player. McCormick was born to Robert and Nancy Jo McCormick in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
He was a four-time Ches-Mont League All-Star at Henderson High School (West Chester High School), where he was the first basketball player in school history to reach 1,000 points and the first baseball player to reach 100 hits in a career.
Baseball was Chas McCormick’s sport while he was a student at NCAA Division II Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Millersville Marauders.
As Michael Brantley’s defensive replacement in April 2021, Chas McCormick made his Major League Baseball debut against the Oakland Athletics.
In the 21st round of the 2017 draft, the Astros selected McCormick and he accepted a $1,000 signing bonus. He received the 2019 MiLB.com Houston Organization All-Star designation.
He batted through 2019 in 20 home runs, and 41 steals, with a slash line of 276.360.400 (in 53 attempts) and .1,126 plate appearances for minor league baseball. He was added to the 2020 Astros wild-card playoff squad.
