American professional pitcher Christopher Alan Archer plays for the Major League Baseball Minnesota Twins.
He has previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB. Clayton High School in Clayton, North Carolina, was where Archer studied.
In the fifth round of the 2006 MLB Draft, he was selected by the Cleveland Indians.
He made his MLB debut in 2012 after being traded to the Rays and subsequently the Chicago Cubs. In both the 2015 and 2017 MLB All-Star Games, Archer was chosen.
Baseball was Archer’s sport while he was a student at Clayton High School in Clayton, North Carolina.
He signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Miami, but after high school, he made the decision to become a professional. During his final year at Clayton, Archer pitched to an 8-3 win-loss record with a 1.75 ERA.
The Cleveland Indians selected Archer in the fifth round of the 2006 MLB Draft.
Following his signing, he was assigned to the Gulf Coast Indians Rookies. Additionally, he made one appearance on the mound with the Appalachian League’s Burlington Indians.
To begin the 2007 season, Archer stayed with the Gulf Coast Indians. For the Class A South Atlantic League’s Lake County Captains in 2008, Archer started 27 games and had a 4-8 win-loss record.
