Christian Holmes is a cornerback with the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. He is 93 kilograms and 1.85 meters tall. When he was a student at Ronald E. McNair High School, he participated in football for the school’s football team. He later enrolled at the University of Missouri and played collegiate football there for the Missouri Tigers.
As a true freshman, he barely took part in 10 games, making just one tackle. In 13 games as a redshirt sophomore, he played and started eight of them. He intercepted two passes and produced two pass breakups, one of which he recovered for a touchdown. He transferred to Oklahoma State in February 2020 and started playing football once more with the Cowboys there.
During his rookie season, he took part in all 11 of Oklahoma State’s games, starting the final two. Along with the 25 total tackles, he intercepted 6 passes. He played in 13 games, including the 2021 Big 12 Championship Game, during his final collegiate campaign. He was also named to the All-Big 12 Academic team and the Associated Press second team.
When the season was through, he had 39 tackles, one interception, and seven pass breakups. Holmes was selected by the Washington Commanders in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, taking 240th overall. His rookie contract, which had a four-year term, was signed on May 6, 2022.
