Defensive end Christian Wilkins competes in American football for the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins. He is 141 kg and 1.93 m tall. Prior to going to Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut, after his freshman year, he first attended Framingham High School. He has 253 tackles and 28.5 sacks in 35 games for his high school team.
He was one of the best players in his class and was classified as a five-star recruit. From 2015 through 2018, he participated in collegiate football with the Clemson Tigers at Clemson University. He participated in 15 games as a freshman, making one start, and recorded 33 tackles and two sacks. He received an All-American designation from the Football Writers Association of America as a sophomore (FWAA).
He was also a contender for the Bronko Nagurski Award. He was a member of the Clemson squad that defeated top-ranked Alabama 35-31 in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He caught his first career touchdown pass in Week 16’s game over the Cincinnati Bengals.
On November 12, 2020, the team put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and on November 25, he was activated. He suited up at fullback in week 15 of the 2021 campaign, when he scored his second touchdown of the season on a flick ball from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. On April 28, 2022, the Dolphins exercised the fifth year of Wilkins’ contract.
