Christian Stephen Yelich is known to be an American-born professional baseball left fielder. He plays for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team. He has a height of 1.90 m and weighs 88 kg.
He was born on December 5, 1991, in Thousand Oaks, California in the United States of America to Stephen and Alecia Yelich. He played baseball in high school at Westlake High School. He then played college baseball for the Miami Hurricanes baseball team.
He was drafted in 2010 by the Miami Marlins in the first round of the 2010 MLB draft. He signed with the Marlins and received $1.7 million as a signing bonus. He made his professional debut that season with the Gulf Coast League Marlins and with the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
The Marlins promoted him to the major leagues in 2013. He made his MLB debut on July 23 2013 for the Marlins. That year, he was awarded a Gold Glove Award in left field which made him become the franchise’s youngest ever player and the first outfielder to win the award.
The Marlins traded his contract in January 2018 to the Milwaukee Brewers. With the Brewers, he was named to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game. In March 2020, Christian and the Brewers agreed on a nine-year contract extension worth $215 million.
