The Marlins traded Yelich to the Milwaukee Brewers on January 25, 2018, in exchange for Lewis Brinson, Isan Daz, Monte Harrison, and Jordan Yamamoto.

After hitting .285 with 11 home runs, 36 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases, Yelich was named to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game.

In an 8–6 extra-inning loss to the American League, Yelich, a National League reserve, replaced Matt Kemp in left field and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run.

Yelich hit for the cycle against the Cincinnati Reds on August 29, accumulating six hits in the contest. In a game against the Washington Nationals on September 2, Yelich hit his first career grand slam.

Yelich hit .326/.402/.598 in 2018, with 36 home runs and 110 RBIs, claiming the first NL batting title in Brewers history while just missing out on a triple crown. He was also second in the league in terms of power-speed numbers (27.3).

Yelich was named the National League’s recipient of the Hank Aaron Award on October 26. On November 16, Yelich was selected the National League’s Most Valuable Player, coming one vote short of a unanimous vote.

Yelich became the sixth player in MLB history to hit a home run in each of his team’s first four games on March 31, 2019.

Yelich became the first player in Brewers history to hit 30 home runs before the All-Star Break on July 1, 2019, breaking Prince Fielder’s previous record of 29 home runs.

Yelich was chosen for the Home Run Derby, however, he had to withdraw due to a back ailment. In the Home Run Derby, he was replaced by Matt Chapman.

Yelich departed the game after hitting a foul ball off his kneecap on September 10, 2019. Shortly later, his right kneecap was discovered to be shattered, putting an end to his 2019 season.
