Chuma Edoga Stats: How Good Is Chuma Edoga? What Happened To Chuma Edoga?

Chuma Edoga is an American football offensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at USC and was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Atlanta Falcons have decided to give one offensive lineman a second shot, just one day after releasing hundreds of players.

Former New York Jets offensive lineman Chuma Edoga was the first player claimed by the Falcons off the waiver wire.

NFL Network stated after Edoga’s signing that he would fight for the right tackle position, which would put him in a position to challenge incumbent Kaleb McGary.

The Jets selected Edoga in the third round in 2018 after he had previously played college football for USC. He’s 25 years old, stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, and weighs 308 pounds. He has seen little time as New York’s starting quarterback.

Jake Matthews, Elijah Wilkinson, Matt Hennessy, Chris Lindstrom, Kaleb McGary, Germain Ifedi, Drew Dalman, and Jalen Mayfield are the only offensive lineman the team decided to maintain on the first 53-man roster.

At tackle, Matthews and McGary appear to be locks, although Edoga may be able to challenge Germain Ifedi for playing time.

The squad has some acquaintance with Edoga, a fourth-year lineman, thanks to the team’s joint workouts with the Jets earlier this month.

Edoga feels like he has returned to his true home by joining the Falcons. Edoga hails from the close-by town of Powder Springs, Georgia, which is less than an hour away from Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

When the Falcons claim Edoga, they’ll need to waive a player to drop back down to the 53-man roster restriction, albeit the corresponding move hasn’t been published yet.
