Bryson Cole Sands, full name Cole Sands is a pitcher for the Minnesota Twins baseball team and an American-born professional baseball player. At North Florida Christian School in Tallahassee, Florida, Cole played baseball while a high school student.
He was selected by the Houston Astros in the 22nd round of the 2015 MLB Draft, but he decided to play collegiate baseball at Florida State University instead of signing with them (FSU). For the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2016 and 2017, Cole participated in collegiate summer baseball.
He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Draft. He joined the Twins and got a $500,000 signing bonus. With the Class A Midwest League’s Cedar Rapids Kernels, he made his professional baseball debut in 2019. During the campaign, he was promoted to the Class A-Advanced Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League.
Before the season was out, he received another promotion to the Class AA Southern League’s Pensacola Blue Wahoos. He didn’t play in a minor league game in 2020 because the COVID-19 outbreak caused the minor league to be cancelled. The Twins moved him to the Wichita Wind Surge of the Double-A Central as the 2021 season got underway. He made his MLB debut on May 1, 2022.
