Colin Moran

Colin Moran, full name Colin Richard Moran is an American professional baseball player who plays as a third baseman for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team of Major League Baseball. Colin was born on October 1, 1992, in Port Chester, New York in the USA.

He played high school baseball for the Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, New York. After high school, he was undrafted by any team thus he chose to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) to play college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Whiles in college, he was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-America team, ACC Freshman of the Year, and Baseball America Freshman of the Year. The Miami Marlins selected him in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft. Moran signed with the Marlins and received a $3.5 million signing bonus.

He made his professional debut playing for the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the Class A South Atlantic League that year. The following year in July the Marlins traded to the Houston Astros. The Astros assigned him to the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Class AA Texas League and invited him to spring training in 2015. In March 2022, Colin officially signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Reds.
