Corey Seager

Corey Seager is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Seager started his professional career with the Pioneer League’s Ogden Raptors, where he batted.309 in 46 games in 2012. In 2013, he was promoted to the Class A Midwest League’s Great Lakes Loons.

In 74 games for Great Lakes, he hit.309 with 12 home runs and 57 runs batted in (RBIs). On August 3, he was promoted to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the Class A-Advanced California League.

He was also named to the Minor League All-Star squad by Baseball America. Seager and Joc Pederson were named co-winners of the Dodgers’ “Minor League Player of the Year” award, according to the team.

After the season, he returned to the Desert Dogs in the AFL and was named to the AFL Top Prospects List.

He was ranked the 7th-best prospect in baseball by MLB.com heading into the 2015 season, and the #5 prospect by Baseball America.

To begin the 2015 season, the Dodgers assigned Seager to their new AA affiliate, the Tulsa Drillers of the Texas League.
