Dakoda Shepley is one of the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive tacklers in the National Football League. He weighs 144 kg and stands 1.96 m tall. At Holy Names High School, he began playing football as a sophomore. He attended the University of British Columbia after high school and played collegiate football for the UBC Thunderbirds team. He redshirted in 2013 as a freshman.
As a sophomore, he contributed to the team’s victory in the Vanier Cup competition. As a senior, he was selected to play right tackle for the Canada West All-star team. Shepley was taken by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft.
He attended training camp and played in three preseason games with the Jets before being released by them on August 31, 2018. Despite being signed by the New York Jets a week earlier, the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League selected him with the fifth overall choice in the 2018 CFL Draft. In August 2020, he signed with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.
In August 2021, the 49ers released him. The Seattle Seahawks picked him up off waivers in September 2021. As part of the team’s final roster cuts, the Seahawks dismissed him on August 31, 2022. He was added to the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on September 1, 2022.
