The Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League’s tight end Dallas Goedert is an experienced football player. At 1.96 m and 116 kg, he is also a tall man. At Britton-Hecla High School, where he studied, he participated for the Braves in football, basketball, and soccer. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at South Dakota University.

From 2013 to 2017, he played as a walk-on for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in football games. Throughout his undergraduate career, he caught 198 passes for 2,988 yards and 21 touchdowns, including two seasons in which he had at least 1,000 receiving yards. During his senior year, he caught a total of 72 passes while playing as team captain, starting all 14 games.

He agreed to participate in the 2018 Senior Bowl after the 2017 season was over. He left the game, though, after suffering an injury in practice. Goedert was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 49th overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was given a four-year, $5.62 million contract by the Eagles in May 2018, which included a $2.17 million signing bonus and $2.90 million in guaranteed money.

In the opening game of the 2018 campaign against the Atlanta Falcons, he made his NFL debut. Goedert and the Eagles agreed to a four-year contract extension in November 2021.
