After signing a one-year deal with the organization worth $3.5 million, Feeney, who will turn 28 in May, quickly established himself as a fan favorite among supporters of the New York Jets for his offseason antics at games involving the New York Islanders.
He started three games in relief, including one at left guard and two at the center, and was a solid contributor down the stretch
Though he has a history of problems in pass protection, the Indiana product flashed some potential in the run game in 2021.
Feeney, who possesses above-average speed, appeared to be a natural in the Jets’ running scheme and contributed greatly to their late-season rushing success.
Feeney is one of the major backup offensive linemen for the Jets, along with Greg Van Roten, Conor McDermott (who was re-signed before free agency began), and Chuma Edoga.
