He had 46 tackles, three of which were for a loss, seven passes were broken up, and five interceptions were made during his junior season, earning him a spot on the first team of the Big Ten Conference.
He declared that he would be participating in the 2022 NFL Draft when the season ended. In the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Belton with the 114th overall choice. He had a collarbone fracture in training camp in August 2022.
