Dane Dunning is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox in 2020.

He attended the University of Florida, where he played college baseball for the Gators. As a freshman, Dunning pitched in 17 games and had a 4.50 ERA.

In his sophomore year, Dunning started more games than he did as a reliever, finishing the year with a 4.03 ERA in 16 appearances, 14 of which were starts.

For the second straight year, Dunning was largely used as a reliever, as he had been as a freshman.

Only five of Dunning’s 33 appearances were starts, yet he had a 2.29 earned run average. He pitched 15.1 innings and allowed one run in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament of 2016.

He was selected by the Washington Nationals in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft following his junior year.

During his first professional season, he played for both the Gulf Coast League Nationals and the Auburn Doubledays, going 3–2 with a 2.02 ERA in eight games with each team. He pitched in the Gulf Coast League for the Nationals and Doubleday.
