Daniel was born on September 17, 1994, in Orlando in Florida. He had his high school baseball career at Lake Travis High School located in Austin, Texas. After he completed high school, he continued at Baylor University where he played college baseball for the Baylor Bears for three years.

Before he graduated from college in 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2015. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB draft. He agreed to play for them and signed.

The Cardinals assigned him to the Johnson City Cardinals where he made his professional debut that year. At the end of the 2017 season, he was traded to the Miami Marlins. He played with the Jupiter Hammerheads, the Gulf Coast Marlins and the Greensboro Grasshoppers in the 2018 minor league season. 

The Marlins promoted him to the major leagues in 2020 and he made his MLB debut for the Marlins on August 8, 2020, when they played against the New York Mets.
