David Ojabo was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria but grew up in Scotland. He plays as an outside linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.
Ojabo and his family relocated to Aberdeen, Scotland in 2007 from Nigeria. He relocated to Blairstown, New Jersey, in the US when he was 17, where he enrolled in Blair Academy.
Before transitioning to American football, he first played basketball. Ojabo decided to play college football at the University of Michigan in part because the state’s climate reminded him of Scotland and made him feel at home.
Ojabo did not participate in Michigan’s 2019 season in any way. He participated in six games as a sophomore in 2020 and made one tackle.
In 2021, Ojabo started off as the new starter. He declared on January 4, 2022, that he would bypass his senior year and sign up for the draft instead.
Ojabo sustained a left ankle injury while working on a drill during Michigan’s Pro Day performance. Later, it was established that he had sustained a torn Achilles.
The Baltimore Ravens selected Achilles Ojabo in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 45th overall.
