Currently an unsigned free agent safety, Deionte Thompson is a professional football player. He measures 1.85 m in height and 88 kg in weight. With 15 interceptions while playing football at West Orange-Stark High School, he graduated. In order to play collegiate football, he committed to the University of Alabama. From 2015 to 2018, he was a football player for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He played in 14 games in 2016 as a redshirt freshman after redshirting his first season at Alabama.

He recorded nine tackles during that season. He made 25 tackles and one interception in his 14 games played as a sophomore in 2017. He also made two starts in those games. In 2018, he became the starter, appearing in 14 games. He was chosen for the second team of the FWAA and Walter Camp All-America teams as a junior. Additionally, he was named to Sports Illustrated’s first team All-America, the league coaches’ first team All-SEC, and the Associated Press’ second team.

Thompson made the decision to forego his senior year after the 2018 season in order to focus on an NFL career. The Arizona Cardinals selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in 11 games and had 18 tackles in his first season. The Cardinals released Thompson on September 27, 2022.
