Del’Shawn Phillips is well-known for playing professional football with the NFL’s New York Jets squad. He is a linebacker on the team. He is 1.88 meters tall and 104 kilograms. In Midtown Detroit, Michigan, the United States, he attended Cass Technical High School. He had pledged to play college football at Western Michigan but was found to be ineligible due to his academic standing.



In Garden City, Kansas, he enrolled at Garden City Community College. He made 72 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks as a rookie. Later, he changed schools and joined the University of Illinois, where he played college football for the Fighting Illini. On April 29, 2019, the Atlanta Falcons signed him as an undrafted free agent.

On August 31, 2019, he was dismissed at the final roster cuts. On October 30, 2019, the Buffalo Bills added him to their practice squad. He signed a futures contract with the organization on January 6, 2020, and played out the rest of the season on the practice squad. In September 2020, he played in the Bills’ inaugural game of the NFL season.



His contract was released by the Bills in January 2021. He took part in just two NFL games. He inked a contract with the New York Jets in March 2021, although he was later released and was re-signed to the practice squad in August 2021. He received a promotion to the active roster in September that year.
