On July 8, 2007, Guerra played for the World Team in Major League Baseball’s All-Star Futures Game, representing the New York Mets organization.
Guerra was invited to Spring Training on February 2, 2021, after signing a minor league contract with the Oakland Athletics.
The Athletics dismissed Guerra on March 26, but he re-signed with the team the next day on a minor league contract.
Guerra’s contract was selected to the active roster on April 8, 2021, to replace A.J. Puk, who was injured.
Guerra had a career-high 53 appearances for Oakland in 2021, posting a 4.11 ERA in 65.2 innings thrown with 62 strikeouts.
Guerra was placed on the 60-day disabled list on April 7, 2022, due to a damaged right ulnar collateral ligament. Guerra had Tommy John surgery and would miss the whole 2022 season, it was revealed on April 13th.
