The Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League use Desmond Ridder as their starting quarterback. He is 1.91 m tall and 94 kg in weight. He participated in collegiate football for the University of Cincinnati’s Cincinnati Bearcats team.

He redshirted his true freshman year and started for the Bearcats as a redshirt freshman. He earned 583 yards rushing and scored five touchdowns while passing for 2,445 yards and 20 scores throughout the season. The American Athletic Conference (AAC) selected him the conference’s Rookie of the Year.

He completed 179 of 325 passes as a redshirt sophomore for 2,164 yards and 18 touchdowns. He completed 14 of 24 passes for 95 yards and a score to earn MVP honors at the 2020 Birmingham Bowl. In his final season, he guided Cincinnati to the College Football Playoff. He won the offensive player of the year award in the AAC in each of the previous two seasons.

At the end of his time at Cincinnati, the Bearcats had a perfect 26-0 record at home, and he had the third-most victories by a quarterback in college football history with 44. At the 2022 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons selected Ridder in the third round with the 74th overall pick. In the draft, he was picked as the second quarterback.
