DeVante Parker Parents: Meet Anthony Shelman and Raneca Parker

Wide receiver DeVante Parker competes in American football for the National Football League’s New England Patriots. He is 1.91 meters tall. He is a 99 kilogram man. He was a three-sport star in basketball, football, and track while he was a student at Louisville, Kentucky’s Ballard High School. He earned two All-State honors.

As a junior, he hauled in 73 passes for 1,438 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Courier-Journal recognized him as a first-team All-State selection. At the University of Louisville, he participated in collegiate football for the Louisville Cardinals football team. He participated in 11 games as a true freshman. With 18 receptions for 291 yards and six touchdowns, he finished sixth on the team.

He participated in all 13 games as a sophomore in 2012, and his 40 receptions for 744 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns led the team. He sustained an injury in 2014 that kept him out of the first seven games of his senior season. In his six games, he caught 43 passes for 855 yards and five touchdowns.

The Miami Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He sustained a hamstring injury on November 5, 2021, and was put on injured reserve. On December 4, 2021, he was made active. The New England Patriots acquired Parker in a trade on April 5, 2022.
