Since the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday, the New England Patriots have signed a number of rookie free agents, including Devin Hafford.
On Monday night, the cornerback from Tarleton State made the announcement that he had signed a deal with the Patriots by posting on social media.
Eight undrafted free agents are rumored to have signed with the Patriots in recent days, including Hafford.
Hafford, a sixth-year senior who played in 56 games for the Texans over the course of his career, offers respectable size at 6-foot-0, 195 pounds, as well as some decent explosiveness.
His pro-day performance included a 1.52-second 10-yard split, a 38-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot, 5-inch broad jump, and 24 bench press repetitions.
At Tarleton State, he made significant use of his athletic abilities, notably during his super senior season in 2021. During his final college season, Hafford recorded 50 tackles, eight turnovers (six interceptions, two fumble recoveries), and one score.
Even though he emerged from the FCS with minimal pre-draft buzz, he was eventually voted the WAC Defensive Player of the Year.
