Devon Kennard is a linebacker with the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He is also an investor, philanthropist, and businessman. He stands 1.91 m tall and weighs 116 kg. He played football when a student at Desert Vista High School. He participated in the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl as well. At a press conference in January 2009, he announced his decision to enroll at the University of Southern California.
He participated in college football at the University for the USC Trojans football team. He obtained a communications undergraduate degree from USC as well as a communication management master’s degree with a business management concentration.
In the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the New York Giants picked Kennard. His four-year, $2.36 million contract with the Giants, which also includes a $144,560 signing bonus, was finalized in May 2014. He signed a three-year, $17.25 million contract with the Detroit Lions in March 2018, which had a $8.50 million guarantee and a $5.25 million signing bonus. He committed to the Arizona Cardinals on a three-year deal in March 2020.
On the depth chart for outside linebackers, Kennard started the 2021 season in third place. He made 24 tackles while appearing in 15 games (three of which he started). He was reinstated to the practice squad after being dismissed by the Cardinals in August 2022. On September 20, 2022, he was added to the active roster.
