Joseph Justyn “J.J.” Taylor, a professional Rocket League esports player for Team Oxygen, was born on January 4, 1998. He plays American football as a running back and returns specialist for the National Football League (NFL) New England Patriots.

Taylor received his diploma from Corona, California’s Centennial High School in 2016. He was selected by Mr. Football as the top offensive player in the state by CalHiSports.com after switching from defensive back to running back.

He was also chosen to the All-Inland First Team. He received Blue-Grey All-American honors. As a senior, he amassed 2,290 yards and 44 touchdowns. According to Scout.com, Rivals.com, and 247 Sports, he is a three-star recruit.

The Big Sky Conference also extended offers to Taylor from Washington State, Nevada, Ohio, Montana State, Sacramento State, and Weber State. Taylor made a 2015 commitment to Arizona.

Taylor racked up 721 running yards and five touchdowns as a redshirt junior in 2019. Taylor declared that he would forgo his senior year and instead declare for the 2020 NFL Draft on November 19, 2019.

On May 5, 2020, Taylor agreed to terms with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent. The team released him on September 5, 2020, and he was added to the practice squad the following day.

On September 7, 2020, he was elevated to the active roster. Taylor’s professional football career began when the Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins in Week 1.
