The greater New York City area is home to the New York Jets, a professional American football team. The Jets are a member of the National Football League’s American Football Conference East division. The team was established in 1959 and given the name Titans of New York as a founding member of the American Football League (AFL).

In 1970, the AFL and NFL merged, and the team then joined the NFL. The group took part in activities at the Polo Grounds for the first time in 1960. After leaving Yankee Stadium in 1964, the team relocated to the Meadowlands Sports Complex in 1984. In 1963, new management chose the name that is used today.

In 1968, the Jets made their postseason debut. They defeated the Baltimore Colts in the World Championship Game between the AFL and NFL as a result of their performance in Super Bowl III, making them the first AFL team to do it. The Jets have played in 13 postseason games and four AFC Championship Games since 1968. The Jets and the New Orleans Saints are the only two NFL teams to have triumphed in their lone Super Bowl participation. One of four teams who have never won the AFC championship is this one.

Did the Jets ever won a Super Bowl?

The Jets have won one Superbowl. They won in 1969 when they played against the Baltimore Colts.
