Dawkins signed a four-year, $4.18 million contract with the Buffalo Bills on May 19, 2017, with $1.83 million guaranteed and a $1.18 million signing bonus. He took part in all 16 games, starting 11 of them at left tackle in Cordy Glenn’s place. In 2017, Pro Football Focus gave Dawkins an overall score of 74.5.

Following the Buffalo Bills’ trade of Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals, Dawkins entered training camp in 2018 with the intention of starting at left tackle.

For the first game of the regular season in 2018, head coach Sean McDermott designated Dawkins the starting left tackle. Against the New York Jets in Week 10 of the 2018 campaign, Dawkins received his first career catch, a touchdown throw from quarterback Matt Barkley of seven yards.

Dawkins received his second touchdown catch from Josh Allen in Week 16 of the 2019 campaign against the New England Patriots.

He was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list when he started training camp in 2021 and needed some time to get back into playing fitness. Later, Dawkins disclosed that he battled the illness for four days in the hospital, calling it “one of the lowest times” of his life.
