Jose Ramirez is a Dominican professional baseball third baseman for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He signed with the Indians as an amateur free agent on November 26, 2009, and made his MLB debut on September 1, 2013.
While also playing second base, shortstop, and left field in addition to third base in 2016, Ramrez reached career highs in terms of his batting average (.312), number of doubles (46), and number of stolen bases (22).
Additionally, with his support, the Indians made it back to the World Series for the first time in 19 years.
As a direct consequence of this, Ramirez was bestowed with the title of Bob Feller Man of the Year (the equivalent of the team Most Valuable Player award).
