When pitcher Domingo German joined the then-Florida Marlins as a 17-year-old in 2010, he became a part of the Miami Marlins organization.

After a couple of seasons with the DSL Marlins in the Dominican Summer League, he was promoted to the GCL Marlins in 2012, where he went 2-0 with a 1.61 ERA in 13 relief appearances.

In 2013, he was promoted to the New York-Penn League’s Batavia Muckdogs after dominating the Gulf Coast League once more, this time with a record of 3-0, 1.38 in five starts.

Domingo continued his rise in 2014 with the South Atlantic League’s Greensboro Grasshoppers. He got off to a strong start this season, finishing 8-3 with a 2.93 ERA in 18 appearances to earn a spot in the 2014 Futures Game.

He was dealt to the New York Yankees on December 19, 2014, along with Nathan Eovaldi and Garrett Jones, for Martin Prado and David Phelps.
