Donovan Wilson is an expert safety who competes for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. At 1.83 meters tall, he weighs 93 kilograms. When he attended Woodlawn High School, football was his sport. Throughout his senior year, he recorded 70 tackles, 13 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, 57 receptions for 860 yards, and 9 touchdowns, earning him distinction as a Class 4A All-State defensive player and the Shreveport Defensive Player of the Year.

During his time at Texas A&M University, he played collegiate football for the Aggies. He made 19 tackles while a true freshman reserve safety in 10 games played. Having started each of the four games, he led the squad in tackles for the 2014 Liberty Bowl.

As a redshirt senior in 2018, he started every game at safety and made 66 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 5 pass breakups, and 2 sacks. The Dallas Cowboys selected Wilson with the 213rd overall choice in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He missed the first two games of the season because of an ankle injury.
