Andrew Scott Hutchison (born August 22, 1990) is a free agent American professional baseball pitcher. He has played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, and Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball (MLB).
On April 19, 2012, the Blue Jays acquired Hutchison’s contract from the Fisher Cats. On April 21, 2012, he made his first MLB start against the Kansas City Royals at Kansas City, tossing 5 3 innings and allowing 5 earned runs with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks in a 9–5 victory.
Hutchison was put on the 15-day disabled list with a right ulnar collateral ligament injury after making 11 starts. Hutchison was chosen as the Blue Jays’ Opening Day starter on March 31, 2015, making him the franchise’s youngest Opening Day starter.
Hutchison signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees on January 10, 2019, which includes an invitation to spring training. On June 17, 2019, he was freed.
On June 21, 2019, Hutchison signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins and was assigned to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings.
Hutchison was traded to the Los Angeles Angels for monetary considerations on August 7, 2019. Following the 2019 season, he became a free agent.
