In American football, wide receiver Dyami Brown represents the Washington Commanders in the National Football League (NFL).
He played collegiate football at North Carolina, where he had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020, before being chosen by Washington in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, Brown attended West Mecklenburg High School. Brown finished his junior season with 999 receiving yards, 14 touchdown catches, and five defensive interceptions.
In his senior year, Brown, a four-star recruit and the greatest wide receiver prospect in his class in the state, committed to play college football for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. He caught 41 catches for 631 yards and 10 touchdowns as well as five on the ground.
Brown hauled up 17 catches as a rookie for 173 yards and a score. He led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 20.3 yards per reception as a sophomore and tied the school record with 12 touchdowns on 51 grabs for 1,034 yards.
In a defeat against the Virginia Cavaliers, he caught six receptions for 202 yards and three touchdowns, earning him the title of ACC Receiver of the Week.
Following a six-reception, 150 yard performance against NC State, he was once more awarded receiver of the week. When Jahan Dotson suffered a hip injury in week 5 of his second season with Washington, Brown got the start in his first game.
In the Titans’ 17-21 loss, he caught 2 catches for 105 yards and 2 scores. A 75-yard reception down the field for a touchdown was his first score in the NFL.
Brown was selected by the Washington Football Team in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed his four-year rookie contract on May 13, 2021.
