Elijah Thomas White is a Major League Baseball utility player for the Texas Rangers of the United States. In 2020, he made his MLB debut.



In Piedmont, South Carolina, White attended Wren High School. He was selected in the 26th round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Cincinnati Reds, but he did not sign with the team.

He was a baseball player for the Tigers at Clemson University. In the 37th round of the 2015 MLB draft, he was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he did not sign and returned to Clemson.



During the summer of 2015, White was a member of the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League.

He was picked in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics, who gave him a $100,000 signing bonus after his junior season.

White hit.275 with two home runs and 25 RBIs in 56 games with the Arizona League Athletics and Vermont Lake Monsters in his debut professional season.

In 115 games with the Stockton Ports in 2017, he hit.270 with four home runs and 36 RBIs. In 130 games with the Midland RockHounds in 2018, he slashed .306/.388/.450 with nine home runs, 55 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases.

He played with the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League after the 2018 season.

White was acquired by the Rangers from the Athletics on December 21, 2018, as part of a three-team trade in which the Rangers received Kyle Bird, Brock Burke, Yoel Espinal, and $750,000 in international signing bonus pool space, the Rays received Emilio Pagán, Rollie Lacy, and a competitive balance pick in the 2019 MLB draft, and the Athletics received Jurickson Profar.

White was a member of the Nashville Sounds of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2019.

On August 20, White’s season was cut short after he collided with an outfield wall and sustained a shoulder injury. Over 116 games in 2019, White batted .253/.320/.418/.738 with 14 home homers and 43 RBI.
