Elijah Hamilton is a cornerback who competes in professional football for the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins. He is 1.88 m tall and 96 kg in weight. He graduated in 2016 from Blessed Trinity Catholic School, where he studied. Both football and track & field earned him letters.
He won the Defensive Player of the Year award as a senior in high school in 2015. He finished his career with 1,309 rushing yards and 30 rushing touchdowns, 567 tackles and five interceptions. He attended Vanderbilt University from 2016 until 2020, where he played collegiate football for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
He played for the Commodores at Vanderbilt in 41 games, and in 2020, he was chosen as the team’s captain. In 2020, as a fifth-year senior, he recorded 24 tackles and three pass breakups. In 2021, he made an application to transfer as a graduate student to Louisiana Tech University. His football career continued there, and in 2021 he played defensive back in each of the Bulldogs’ 12 games.
At Mississippi State, he made his Tech debut and registered a lone tackle. He added 23 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and a pass breakup to his resume. During 2021, he made tackles in 10 games, with a season-high four versus Southern Miss in November 2021. As an undrafted free agent after the 2022 season, he was acquired by the Miami Dolphins.
