Elijah Moore, an American football wide receiver for the New York Jets of the National Football League, was born on March 27, 2000. The Jets selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft after he played collegiate football for Ole Miss.
Moore was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Moore was selected an Under Armour All-American as a senior after hauling in 28 catches for 407 yards and five scores. He chose Georgia over 33 other scholarship offers as a four-star recruit to play college football. In December of his senior year, Moore decided against committing to Ole Miss.
Moore was chosen by the New York Jets in the second round (34th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. Moore signed a four-year, $8.94 million rookie deal with the Jets on July 21, 2021.
Moore was the starter wide receiver when his first year began. In a remarkable performance in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, he recorded seven receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns in addition to his first career touchdown. He recorded eight catches for 141 yards and a touchdown in Week 11. He had a quad injury in Week 13 and was put on injured reserve on December 11, 2021.
