Emmanuel was born and raised in the Dominican Republic on March 18, 1998, in the town of Río San Juan. He was signed by the Cleveland Indians organisation as an international free agent in February 2015. He signed with them and was given an amount of $125,000 as a signing bonus. He made his professional debut that season playing for the DSL Padres.

For the 2016 and 2017 minor league seasons, he played for the AZL Padres and then played a game for the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Class A Short Season Northwest League that same season. He was traded to the Texas Rangers in 2018.

The Rangers assigned him to play with the Spokane Indians of the Class A Short Season Northwest League for the 2018 season and he played for the Down East Wood Ducks of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League in the 2019 season.

The Rangers promoted him to the Frisco RoughRiders of the Double-A Texas League in April 2019. He was promoted to the major leagues in August 2019 where he made his MLB debut on August 4 that year. The Rangers traded him to the Cleveland Indians in December 2019 and he has been with them since.
