Eric Lauer, the full name Eric Lance Lauer plays baseball professionally for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team of the Major League Baseball. He plays as a pitcher for the team. He has a height of 1.90 m and a weight of 93 kg.
Eric was born and raised in Elyria in Ohio on June 3, 1995. He played baseball whiles he was enrolled at Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio. There, Eric played as a pitcher and first baseman for the team. After school, he enrolled at Kent State University where he played college baseball for the school. Before getting into college, the Toronto Blue Jays selected him in the 17th round of the 2013 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and chose college baseball over professional baseball.
During the 2016 MLB draft, the San Diego Padres selected him in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft. He agreed to play for them signed with the Padres for a $2 million signing bonus. He made his professional debut that season playing with the Arizona Padres of the Rookie-level Arizona League.
Shortly after making his professional debut, he got promoted to play with the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League and the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Class A Midwest League. In November 2019, the Padres traded him to the Milwaukee Brewers.
