American football cornerback Essang Bassey was born on August 12, 1998, and he currently plays for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League.
He played high school football in Columbus, Georgia, and college football at Wake Forest. He attended Columbus High School in Columbus, Georgia, for high school football.

On January 10, 2022, Bassey was picked up by the Denver Broncos after being released by another team. On September 1, 2022, he was released from active duty and re-signed to the practice squad.
