Eugenio Alejandro Suárez plays infield for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. As an amateur free agent, Suárez signed a contract with the Detroit Tigers on October 9, 2008. He played with the Tigers in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2009 and 2010.

He played for the West Michigan Whitecaps of the Class A Midwest League, the Gulf Coast Tigers of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, and the Connecticut Tigers of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League in 2011. He played for the West Michigan Whitecaps in 2012.

He started the 2013 season with the Florida State League’s Class A-Advanced Lakeland Flying Tigers before being moved to the Class AA Eastern League’s Erie SeaWolves later in the year. He was named to the Tigers’ 40-man roster on November 20, 2013. He made his MLB debut for the Detroit Tigers on June 4, 2014.

On December 11, 2014, the Tigers dealt Suárez to the Cincinnati Reds. In March 2018, Suárez and the Cincinnati Reds reached an agreement on a seven-year, $66 million deal. In 2018, he was chosen for the MLB All-Star Game. On September 10, 2018, at the MLB Japan All-Star Series, he was selected for the MLB All-stars. In March 2022, the Reds traded him to the Seattle Mariners.
